I officially have a motorcycle license.

Now I just need to miraculously get $2000, or have someone give me a bike for free.

Attention Blacksburg Residents

I am currently in search of a cheap (no more than $450/mo) 1 or 2 bedroom rental downtown. In February, I moved to a house about fifteen minutes outside of town. While I love my residence, I have been spending way more on gas to drive to and from than I had anticipated. If anyone knows, or hears of anything available, please message me. I have a medium sized dog, so a pet policy is a must. Thanks.

Boy it feels good to be able to say, “I’m a senior.”

One more year, and I will officially become a Virginia Tech Alumni. It’s been a long, hard struggle, but I have finally made it. While my grades slipped last semester quite a bit (I blame the fact that I turned 21 in December), I am taking a few summer classes to bring up my GPA. The first set of summer classes start Monday, which I am really not looking forward to. Luckily, I will be done with classes early enough in the day to still enjoy the wonderful summer weather, most likely lounging on the river.

However, while it may be nice to finally be a senior, I’m quite nervous about graduating, and starting a “real” job. So many worries and negative thoughts have been circling around my head the last few months. What if I can’t find a job? What if I am horrible at what I want to do? What if this? What if that? And so on, and so forth. Hopefully, the closer graduation becomes, the less my mind will dwell on these pessimistic thoughts, and not the other way around.

As some of you may have read in a prior post, I finally got around to reading Hunter S. Thompson’s novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Afterwards, I decided to watch the film again to compare the similarities between the two. I was delighted to discover that the movie I am quite fond of went hand in hand with the storyline of the novel. There are very few movies based on books that do this. I also was surprised to see that Thompson also made an appearance in the movie as himself. I can’t believe I never noticed that before.

I forgot how beautiful the Cascades are. The weather was beautiful yesterday, so I decided to take the four mile round-trip hike. The water was freezing, but it was still amazing. It was also rushing rather quickly, but I was still able to climb the face of the waterfall as I do every time I hike up there. (Taken with Instagram at Cascade Falls)

I forgot how much I love recreational reading. Being a full-time student, I don’t have a lot of spare time to read novels and such. My time is usually spent with my nose buried in a textbook. However, now that it’s summer, and seeing how the weather has been nice, I have found myself outside reading. I am currently indulged in Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This is a book I have meant to read for some time now. It has kept my attention for the last three hours, and I have a feeling it will be finished by tonight.

For those of you who enjoyed Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 2004 cinematic version of The Phantom of the Opera, yet have never read Gaston Leroux’s original book, I strongly recommend it. The book was by FAR better than the movie. I started it Tuesday, and finished the entire thing by the next morning.

Bruce:I'll nail you.
Me:I see what you did there.
